This is How Great a Post Looks on this Theme

When writing a blog post, sometimes making the first paragraph stand out gives the post a new edge and a professional flare. Follow along as we explore a few more ideas…

In this post, we’ll look at a couple of examples that can be used to make an article stand out and look more “becoming” to the eyes. Things we’ll discuss include:

  • using blockquotes
  • including photos
  • including lists

The Purpose of the Blockquote

The blockquote is something that is used in virtually every type of printed media. From magazines, to websites, books, to newspapers, it’s a very well traveled path and it’s very effective to both separate what someone else has said and bring extra attention to the statement.

Different Styles for Photos

Why isn't this Photo Working?
In whatever theme I use, I like to adopt styles for my photos the way they are in the Cutline theme. What Chris Pearson did was set up his theme to show photos in different ways by assigning classes to them.

Using Ordered and Unordered Lists

First of all, what is the difference between and Ordered and an Unordered List? An ordered list is a list that is numbered. In other words, you style the list as “ordered”, and the numbers will automatically be there.

  3. blockquotes

On the other hand, an unordered list is a list that has no numbers. Most of the time, the list has bullets instead.
